Alisi Motors: a road-legal GT40 replica run by one PDM25

Alisi Motors turned a classic race-car design into a street-legal road car, the Miles GT. A single Hardwire PDM25 runs all of its road equipment, without spoiling the period look.

The challenge

Alisi Motors comes from top-level Argentinian motorsport, having built cars for the TC2000 and Turismo Nacional series. The Miles GT is its first move into bespoke road cars: a handmade GT40 MK1 replica with a tubular chassis and lightweight fibreglass body.

Making a minimalist race design road-legal meant adding indicators, hazards, horn, wipers, instruments and air conditioning, all without compromising the classic design, and in a system compact and robust enough for a low-volume handbuilt car.

The solution

A Hardwire PDM25 mounted behind the dashboard replaces the fuse and relay system and controls every auxiliary function. The harness around it was built to motorsport standards.

  • All electrical functions defined in software, with no complex hardware changes
  • Concentric-twisted harness with DTM connectors throughout, for compact packaging and reliability
  • Braided sleeving, DR25 and thermal insulation, in a modular layout that speeds up assembly

The results

One PDM and a tightly packaged harness give a clean, space-efficient install that keeps the car looking authentic. Removing relays and fuses cuts potential failure points, and the system is built to cope with heat and vibration. The result is a handmade car that is easy to live with on the road.
